Albert Street Uniting Church has a community services division called Wesley Mission Queensland which was established in 1907 when affiliated with the Methodist Church (Methodist Central Mission). Currently we provide services throughout Queensland to people from a wide spectrum across the community including: the elderly (retirement living, residential aged care), youth and families at risk of homelessnessthose living with a disability and people struggling with disadvantage who have nowhere else to turn. Wesley Mission Queensland employ a dedicated team of more than 2500 staff and 1500 volunteers. We are committed to addressing the issues facing our community and to offer services that see the person as a whole being created in the image of a loving God.

The style of our celebrations is informal and relaxed. If you decide to join us for one of our Sunday celebrations we suggest you arrive 10 minutes or so before the stated service time.

Saint Andrew’s is a congregation within the Uniting Church in Australia (UCA). The UCA was inaugurated in 1977 when Methodist, most Congregational and some Presbyterian churches in Australia united. As an immediate result, in the City of Brisbane, there were three UCA churches in Ann Street. In 1981, two of them – Ann Street City (formerly Congregational) and St Andrew’s (formerly Presbyterian) amalgamated to form St Andrew’s Uniting Church. These two large city congregations began in 1859 and 1862, respectively, so their stories are connected with the growth of Brisbane since colonial days.

Why? Because 2 million people in the greater Brisbane area walk around in isolation, carry addictions and are unconnected to the wonder and life-changing power of the gospel and the loving community which is His church. No longer should the hope-draining idols of materialism, power and prestige rule on our watch. Everybody, all generations, races and culture, from the last, the least and the lost, whether rich or poor, should have the chance to know the love of Jesus, for time is short.
We are rising up and fighting back! We have great hope, and a passion to see 5,000 decisions for Christ. Our hope is that we will journey with at least a quarter of these new believers as they say “yes” to discipleship and “no” to spiritual poverty.
We see us planted in our own building with a church of at least 500 who walk according to the Spirit, for the Kingdom of God is not a kingdom of talk, but of power.
As we grow, we will multiply. We do church as a team. We see many Pastors & leaders using their gifts & equipping others to do the work of the ministry. We see a ministry training school raising up all generations and giftings for the body of Christ, equipping 100 students per year.
