Tuggeranong Veterinary Hospital was started by Malcolm McKnown, and had its small beginnings as a branch practice at Canberra South Veterinary Hospital. After operating the practice at its original location in Whiteman St Wanniassa for about one year, Malcolm made the decision to buy the branch practice and relocate it to his new home in Fadden in 1983. At this location the practice operated out of three rooms attached to his house. In 1987 two additional rooms were added but as time went on it had become increasingly obvious that the practice had outgrown the location. In 1996 it moved to a purpose built Veterinary Hospital at its current location in the Fadden shops.
