Savion is a collaboration of hand crafted baked goodness. Sprouting from the rich baking heritage of the Ukraine, owners Sergeiy and Ina were true bagel connoisseurs, they hunted and tasted all different varieties of bagels until they found Savion in Melbourne, Australia. Sergiy and Ina just had to be part of this truly unique bakery and so they purchased the business in 2013. Introducing unique East European recipes, Sergiy and Ina have carried on the Savion legacy and taken it to the next level by contributing technique, finesse and love to their baking.
Savion opened in 1998 with old fashioned traditional bagels, cakes and exquisite coffee. Since then their repertoire has evolved into a range of classic inspired eastern european recipe baked in a rustic way.

We have 8 different varieties of bagels, with special editions featured regularly.
Our bagels are produced with Australian flours and ingredients and are the product of a traditional 18-hour boil and bake process.

The Woodfrog bakers know that one of the most important ingredients in good bread is time. In our view, real bread cannot be hurried because, like grapes in wine-making, our dough needs plenty of time to mature and for natural sugars, nutrients and flavour to be unlocked.
Loaves are hand shaped with a high moisture content, a process that results in bubbly caramelised crusts, and light and airy loaves that stay fresh long after they’ve been baked. Enjoy them for up to a week as crunchy toast that shatters in your mouth, loud enough to wake you for the day.

Glick’s is an Australian owned family business, renowned for manufacturing quality breads, cakes and fine foods for both the retail and wholesale markets. Glick’s was founded in the late 1960s by Mr Mendel Glick OBM in a small retail shop on Kooyong Road Caulfield. In its early days, the shop offered a selection of cakes and biscuits until Mr Glick revived an old European recipe and method for boiled bagels. The product was an instant sensation and word quickly spread throughout the Jewish community. Local milk-bars and delis sought a piece of the action too. Many shopkeepers recognised the bagel’s appeal, particularly with the development of Sunday trading.

We are family owned & pride ourselves on quality & service! Inspired by our family trip to New York, we have taken a little bit of the New York Bagel culture and combined it with the family love for hospitality, imagination and down right delicious food. Our bagels are a little less dense than some- this is so they pair deliciously with our other ingredients. We wanted to combine what we loved about New York bagels and Melbourne’s Foodie culture to bring to life our own contribution to Melbourne’s thriving Foodie lifestyle.

The Bagel house opened it’s doors in November 2019. 4 months before the pandemic. It has been an interesting journey but we believe if you want something so bad, you will get it. We wanted a good product, good service and happy customers. We have massive love for coffee and it took us a long time to choose which supplier we would use. After visiting many cafes around Melbourne it was actually in Queenscliff where we fell in love with the Woolshed blend. It’s originally from Geelong and we are so happy we brought it to Melbourne so we can share it with you.
