John Mills Himself Cafe is housed on the ground floor of the ‘John MIlls Himself’ building at 55 Elizabeth Street, Brisbane (Bottom of the Driveway). It is co-owned by Marcus Allison and Matthew Burt.
Our business philosophy is for sustainable profit and attempts to maximise quality, environmental sustainability and best practice ethics. In conjunction with the John Mills Himself Bar we are committed to sourcing local products where possible.
We run Five Senses Dark Horse blend as our house coffee and rotate our feature coffee with Australian roasters who we align with. Currently we source coffee from Small Batch, Sample, Light and Parallel Coffee Roasters.
We use Heirloom Chocolate and have over 10 flavours for our 70% Dark, Dairy Milk and White hot chocolates. We source our cow milk locally from Barambah Organics and Maleny Dairies and also offer Bonsoy soy milk and Macadamia milk. We also have cakes and pastries baked fresh from Crust and Co and Leavain Bakeries.

Strauss is owned and operated by coffee aficionado and self-professed foodie, Brad Jewell who is also known to many as a regular marathon runner who knows how food fuels the body and soul.
Following a 20-year corporate catering career, Brad seized the opportunity to do his own thing and run a boutique café.
