In March 2016 Ruby and Nick Gleeson moved from Sydney with two young children to take over Factory Espresso which was established in 2012.With next to no hospitality experience between us it was a challenge. Some thought we would be finished after 5 months. Our loyal customers and staff got us through along with the support from local suppliers and a very talented business mentor who selflessly dedicated his 20 years café experience to ensure we would see growth. In late 2017 we began our monthly comedy nights (now fortnightly) bringing talented comedians such as Tom Gleeson, Sam Simmons, Justin Hamilton, Tom Gibson, Tommy Dean and Pete Berner to name a few to Orange to perform at the café. Normally you have to wait 6 months to see a comedy show in Orange but we wanted to change that experience. We also support government initiatives like ‘Cuppa for the driver’ preventing driver fatigue and the Orange Legacy branch on Anzac Day. We donate a share of our profits to the annual Red Shield Appeal as well as Housing Plus’s SHOT of Support.
