Luisa Nodari is the passionate and very talented Pastry Chef behind Luisa’s Sweet Creations. Luisa began her career in South Africa, training at the PrueLeith Culinary Institute. She then moved to Italy, working for 10 years as a Pastry Chef in Bergamo’s finest patisseries. A move to Australia followed, where Luisa continued to work in a number of esteemed restaurants and cafes, including the very popular Wild Canary Cafe in Pullenvale. Luisa’s Sweet Creations is based in the leafy suburb of Moggill, just outside of Brisbane, Australia. Luisa’s has been in operation for over 10 years, beginning in the Atherton Tablelands before relocating to Brisbane. Luisa is well known for her incredibly detailed sugar cake toppers, and was recognised as a ACADA 2021 Sugar Modelling Artist of the Year Finalist. Not only does Luisa have a wealth of working experience, she was also raised in a family that celebrated cooking and good food. This allows her to share passion, love and good taste with other families to enrich their special occasions.

Our pastry chefs can be found creating our signature products in a commercial kitchen alongside our retail store in Brisbane’s inner city suburb of Albion. In addition to freshly baked cakes and pastries, all of our packaged items– biscuits, chocolates, nougat, panforte and preserves, to name a few–are made in our kitchen and packaged in-store. Our bread bakery is located next door to the main kitchen. Our head bread baker lives and breathes bread, using only quality grains to create our sourdough, baguettes, ciabatta and seeded loaves, as well as a delicious assortment of buttery pastries. Each loaf is an exceptional example of its variety: the sourdough has a thick crust and a distinct tang, baguettes are crisp–not flaky–with an elastic crumb, and ciabattas have a moist crumb and chewy crust.

Born in England, I qualified as an Occupational Therapist, but after completing a personal challenge of sailing across the Atlantic Ocean, I developed a passion to move into a more water based career. After convincing my husband that he too wanted to share this dream, we set our sights on working as a couple on yachts in the Caribbean. I qualified as a yacht captain and then started my passion for food – studying at Rosie Davies in the UK. We headed out to the Caribbean and spent 3 years sailing, where I got the opportunity to create beautiful food for people while sailing around stunning locations.
