St Patrick’s Catholic Parish Gosford is one of the famous Churches in the Central Coast. The Church was opened by the Sisters of St Joseph in 1910 to serve the Gosford and surrounding community. As the population grew, the church became bordered by busy roads and railway lines. By 1965, Fr Patrick McManus decided to purchase land at East Gosford to build the St. Patrick’s Church to serve over 600 congregants. The new church’s construction funds were from the sold funds of the old church. In 1959, St Patrick’s School was opened at East Gosford by Sisters of St Joseph. After the final residents of St Joseph left the convent. St Patrick’s Catholic Parish Gosford convent was then converted into both premises for their priests and office space, which is currently leased as commercial offices.

The church Mass was celebrated monthly in a public hall in Kurrawyba Avenue, opposite the present Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza in 1931. To reduce the covid risk, all our gatherings in January will be outdoors under the COLA at Gorokan High. Masks are optional but we encourage you to consider it. Even if church isn’t normally your thing, we would love to have you join us in this new season. All are welcome! Going to any new place can sometimes be daunting. We try and make church as welcoming and comfortable as possible, whatever your background. Church for us is pretty casual and relaxed (dress however you want!), while still being structured enough to help us to focus on Jesus.
