We are Western Australia’s first established Baptist Church with the Foundation Service being held in the Perth Town Hall on the 23 June 1895. May 1899 saw the Opening and Dedication of a church building in Museum Street. This was not only the worship and outreach centre of Perth Church but also was used for many years by the WA Baptist Union for meetings and assemblies.

A forced land resumption by the State to make way for a Cultural Centre led to relocation of the church to its present site on the corner of James and Stirling Streets with the new church Dedication and Opening being held on the 23 June, 1973.

Wesley Church

SPECIALTY:

Church online, Midweek Messages, Christian Meditation, Music, Baptism, Children & Family Ministry, Open Doors Program, Safe Church.

Here’s The Deal:

The history of Wesley Church traces all the way back to the voyage of the “Tranby”, which sailed from Hull, England, carrying 37 pioneers bound for the Swan River Colony, arriving in Fremantle on 3 February 1830. One of those early pioneers, Joseph Hardey, conducted a thanksgiving service on the beach, laying the foundation for the beginning of the Methodist Church in WA. Hardey became the spiritual leader of the group, conducting the first Methodist Service under a jarrah tree on Hay Street (commemorated today with a plaque on the footway) and after four years of open air worship, it was decided to build a permanent chapel. A block of land 40 feet long and 80 feet deep was obtained from James Inkpen in Murray Street. With no minister to guide them, the colonists met the cost of the chapel by offering £2 shares and consequently when the 24ft x 15ft building was opened on 22 June 1834, it was known as the ‘Subscription Chapel’.

C3 Church North Perth

SPECIALTY:

Marriage, Restoration Project, Cathedral Lectures, Baptism, Worship, Music,.

Here’s The Deal:

As a church we are committed to seeing people learn how to have loving, authentic relationships with God and one another. We believe that Jesus came to give us life to the full and it is our desire to live in that fullness and share it with others. For this reason, we aim to create a space where all are welcomed, accepted and given the space to deepen their understanding of and purpose in Christ. We believe God has a plan for his people, that he empowers us with His Holy Spirit and releases us to innovatively love and serve the community around us.

C3 North Perth is part of a bigger movement of churches worldwide called C3 Church, which is committed to healthy relationships and connection between ministers and churches. We are one of 5 location churches lead by Ps Jason & Emma Schroeder of C3 Hepburn Heights, just 20mins north of the CBD. We believe the church should continue to grow large enough to reach all whilst remain small enough to foster healthy relationships. For this reason we gather in worship services at the North Perth Town Hall and over dinner in homes around the city on a fortnightly Sunday rotation.

SPECIALTY:

Children’s Church & Little Lambs, Church@Home, Fun & Fellowship Groups, Home Groups, Youth & Confirmation, Young Adults.

Here’s The Deal:

In 1901 Pastor Edwin Fischer arrived in Perth to establish the first Lutheran congregation in Western Australia. Since that time our West Australian mission has been to bring the Good News of God’s love in Jesus Christ to all people, in our communities and beyond. Over the years St Johns members have given generously towards building their church. In 1936, with only 9 families, a church large enough to seat 100 people was erected. The exterior stone came from Darlington in the Perth hills. Over time the church was extended and a choir loft added. The magnificent organ with its 1200 pipes, was built by Paul Hufner and dedicated in 1990. A church hall was built in 1986 following a land swap for the construction of what became the Graham Farmer Freeway Tunnel. In 2006 adjoining land was purchased to increase the size of the block and the Faith for the Future project commenced. The new building was completed and officially opened by LCA Bishop John Henderson in March 2015.

Trinity Uniting Church

SPECIALTY:

Church online, Midweek Messages, Christian Meditation, Music, Baptism, Children & Family Ministry, Open Doors Program, Safe Church.

Here’s The Deal:

Trinity Church owes its foundation to Henry Trigg, a carpenter, businessman and Congregationalist from Gloucester, England. Trigg arrived in the Swan River Colony aboard the ‘Lotus’ in October 1829. His personal wealth allowed him to take up a land grant of 1,208 hectares, encompassing what is now known as the suburb of Churchlands. Trigg initially attended the first Anglican Church, where he was a choirmaster. He later joined the Wesleyans, but from 1843 he held prayer meetings in the Congregational tradition in his own home on Bazaar Terrace. Two people were present at the first meeting Trigg commented “Himself and the Lord”. In 1845 a few friends met to discuss the building of a chapel. Land was leased for 18 years in William Street and in 1846, a chapel was constructed, where for six years, Trigg conducted all the services until, 1852, when the London Missionary Society sent out the Reverend James Leonard to be the first ordained Congregational minister.

All Nations Presbyterian Church

SPECIALTY:

Bible Study Groups, Children’s Ministries, Free English Classes.

Here’s The Deal:

All Nations was set up to be a multi-ethnic church and God has blessed us so that we are made up of people from many different cultural backgrounds. We have people from well over 15 countries currently attending our church, from Australian to Asian, South American to European. Wherever you come from you are most welcome to join with us.

Our worship service on Sunday mornings is where the church family meets to praise God, encourage each other and learn from God’s Word – the Bible. A service leader will explain what is going on at each point in the service. There will be singing, with a mixture of traditional hymns and more contemporary Christian songs. There will be a few prayers as we talk to our loving Father. An offering is taken to support the work of the church and for missions. The Bible is read and the preacher explains what the Bible passage means and how it affects how we think about God and how we live our lives. After the formal worship time is finished there is an informal time of enjoying each other’s company over morning tea.
