Dr Hannah Farquhar is an Endocrinologist, working with all endocrine disorders and has a particular interest in pregnancy-related endocrine disorders, women’s health, androgen deficiency, thyroid disorders and diabetes mellitus. Dr Hannah Farquhar adopts an evidence-based approach in her assessment of patients and ensures that they are well informed about their condition and its management. Many disorders require long-term monitoring and follow up, and as such she enjoys building strong therapeutic relationships with patients to improve their health outcomes. Dr Farquhar obtained her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the University of Tasmania and graduated in 2013. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP), and a Member of the Endocrine Society of Australia, Diabetes Society of Australia and Society of Obstetric Medicine of Australia and New Zealand.

Dr Shirkhedkar is a Senior Endocrinologist, who has been practicing as a Consultant Endocrinologist in Australia since January 2008. She started her private practice in Queensland at the Sunshine coast in 2011 and opened her practice at North Lakes in 2013. She also holds public hospital appointments as a senior staff specialist in endocrinology. She is pleased to join NorthLakes Endocrinology to help deliver the highest quality multi-disciplinary specialist care. Dr Shirkhedkar’s areas of interest include diabetes, bone and mineral metabolism, infertility and thyroid disorders. She is well versed with insulin pump treatment for Type 1 diabetes and works with experienced Diabetes Educators to commence and optimize insulin pump therapy. Dr Estella is an experienced physician with over 20 years of medical experience and exceptional knowledge in the areas of diabetes and endocrinology. Dr Estella was born in Queensland and graduated from the University of Queensland (Medicine) in 1994 with the prize in medicine therapeutics. He has spent time working in rural and metropolitan Queensland, Victoria and New Zealand. The different locations, and people he has treated, have led Dr Estella to develop an individual approach to each patient, investigating and managing their needs and conditions. His endocrine training commenced in Brisbane at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and the Greenslopes Hospital. He has undertaken further studies and a PhD in the area of Type 1 diabetes.

Dr Sultan Linjawi is an internationally renowned global lecturer and keynote speaker who has spoken in over 50 cities across the world. He is regularly asked to speak to diabetes specialists, endocrinologists, GPs and diabetes educators and has lectured to over 9000 doctors in the last 5 years. He is a highly-respected and published researcher who passionately believes that the answer to improving the health of people is communicating the science to the people who are dealing with it every day. Dr Sultan believes the answer to many modern health problems lies with the individual, therefore, education and understanding are key. He explains complex science in a straightforward, interesting and engaging way. He continues to travel in his quest to better understand the relationship between health, culture and society that continues to drive this diabetes epidemic. Currently he is filming a 6 part documentary about the global diabetes challenge ‘A Very Modern Plague’ that will be completed in late 2019.

Dr Monica Wagenaar (MBBS, FRACP) is an Adult Endocrinologist with an interest in all aspects of General Endocrinology. Dr Wagenaar graduated in Medicine at the University of Queensland in 1993. She subsequently completed her Physician and Endocrine training with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians gaining her Fellowship in 2001. Dr Wagenaar worked in various Brisbane hospitals during her training. Since then she has taught medical students, participated in research and continued to strive to gain knowledge in her field. The consulting rooms are conveniently located in the Chermside Medical Complex in Chermside, Brisbane. Dr Wagenaar also has a special interest in Cystic Fibrosis related endocrinology and has a position as VMO for the Cystic Fibrosis Adult Centre at The Prince Charles Hospital.

Dr Kevin Lee is an Australian trained Specialist Physician in Endocrinology/Diabetes and Nuclear Medicine. He is a staff specialist at the Royal Brisbane Women’s Hospital in Department of Nuclear Medicine and Specialised PET services. Dr Cotterill is a consultant specialist in paediatric endocrinology, recognised internationally as an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of endocrine disorders in babies, children and adolescents. Dr Cotterill holds medical qualification from the United Kingdom and Australia. He became a specialist children’s physician in 1988 and an accredited paediatric endocrinologist in 1993. He is a past president of the Australian Paediatric Endocrine Group which fosters a sharing of research and clinical care among paediatric endocrinologists across Australia and New Zealand. He is an associate professor at the University of Queensland, teaching medical students and junior doctors.

She completed her specialist training in the field of endocrinology at the RBWH and Nambour General Hospital. Dr Carruthers looks after patients with a range of endocrine conditions and is committed to providing up-to-date care.

Dr Kim Ku is a specialist endocrinologist who has been in practice since 2009. She is a University of Queensland graduate and undertook her advanced specialty training at Princess Alexandra Hospital and The Townsville Hospital. Her basic physician training was completed at various hospitals in Queensland, as well as in the United Kingdom and Singapore. She has expertise in all aspects of diabetes and general endocrinology including pituitary, thyroid, parathyroid and metabolic bone disease. She is a member of the internationally renowned Hypertension team at Greenslopes Hospital working alongside the eminent Professor Michael Stowasser. Dr Ku is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese.

Dr Chikani is an Endocrinologist treating all endocrine conditions.
