He dual trained in Endocrinology and Geriatric Medicine in WA, as well as doing a 6 month elective in Endocrinology in the UK. Dr Arenson works as a Consultant Endocrinologist at SJOG Murdoch and the Wexford centre. He is the Head of the Department of Geriatric Medicine and a consultant specialist Endocrinologist at Royal Perth Hospital. Winner of an Outstanding Service Award for Royal Perth Hospital for 2018. He won the “WA Clinical Educator of the Year” award in 2015, as well as being nominated for “Australian national clinical educator of the year”. Dr Damon Bell received his MB ChB from the University of Otago in 2000. He completed his physician training in Endocrinology (FRACP, 2010) and chemical pathology training (FRCPA, 2009) at Wellington Hospital in New Zealand. He has subsequently gained expertise in both the pathologic and clinical aspects of cardiometabolic genetic diseases including the inherited aspects of lipid, hypertension and diabetic disorders. His research interests focus on optimising the detection and management of familial hypercholesterolaemia and he was awarded a PhD from the University of Western Australia in 2016. Damon gained his Fellowship of the Faculty of Science (FFSc) of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia in 2017.
