Bistrot Plume is one of the best French restaurants in Geelong. Most produce is sourced from Tasmania and Victoria, including greens from a permaculture producer less than a kilometre away from the restaurant. The restaurant’s breakfast dishes include Cartel Coffee, classic brunch cocktails and refined dishes such as lobster-brioche benedict and mushroom tart with confit garlic, thyme, hazelnuts and feta. Their standout items include bugs with garlic and parsley butter, chicken-liver parfait and steak tartare. A hand-cranked Italian meat slicer sits behind the marble bar, in front of glass shelves stacked on bespoke brass poles. Bistrot Plume has vegetarian and vegan menu options.

In its prime The Federal Woollen Mills was a thriving and bustling workplace employing in the vicinity of 1000 people until the ever-changing forces of supply and demand, production costs and progress brought about its demise last century. Today, an enterprising family has helped revitalise and re-engergise the redeveloped factory site and turned part of its industrial interior into a unique and high-class Geelong restaurant, cafe and bar.
The Federal cafe, restaurant and bar is the project of Nathalie Moussi and her brothers, Carlo and Marc, who have taken their experience in restaurants, cafes and reception centres in metropolitan centres to create a one-of-a-kind dining and entertainment experience in one of Geelong’s most iconic and recognisable buildings.

On February 20, 1986 France-Soir Restaurant was established by Jean-Paul Prunetti and Yvon Vogel; partners in an enterprise neither imagined would endure as it has. The partnership lasted until March 1988 when Yvon returned to France.
Starting his career in Paris as an apprentice waiter in 1964, aged 14 it is no surprise that Jean-Paul achieved great success creating a smaller version of the great Parisienne brasserie.
Whilst remaining true to the restaurants original philosophy, patrons and the changing times have had a great influence on the menu content.
