Dr Stephen Cattanach is an experienced practitioner of Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Fertility. He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Melbourne University, before going on to become a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (FRANZCOG). Recently, Dr Cattanach obtained his Masters in Reproductive Medicine with Excellence from the University of New South Wales (MRM UNSW 2017). He is based at the Mater Mother’s and Mater Private Hospitals in South Brisbane, as well as Greenslopes Private Hospital. He trained in Melbourne, Limerick Ireland and Brisbane where he has remained since obtaining his fellowship in 1989. His practice includes high risk obstetrics, laparoscopic surgery, continence and pelvic floor surgery, colposcopy and abnormal cervical screening tests, infertility and IVF. Dr Allen completed his initial medical degree, he was lured to Queensland by the wonderful lifestyle and completed all his post-graduate study in the Sunshine State. He has helped with fertility, pregnancies, delivered babies and dealt with gynaecological issues with patients in major hospitals around South East Queensland, including Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Princess Alexandra Hospital and Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital plus hospitals in Toowoomba, Nambour and on the Gold Coast. A stint with the Roma-based Flying Obstetrics and Gynaecology Service exposed Dr Allen to valuable experience in pregnancy and gynaecological surgery throughout rural Queensland. He now operates exclusively at the Mater Mothers Private and Mater Private hospital as they provide the highest standard of surgical, post-operative and post-natal care in Queensland.

Dr Tanda has a great interest in all areas of gynaecology with a particular interest in operative laparoscopy, colposcopy and management of vulval disorders, contraception and menopause. For the past 20 years, she has worked for Queensland Health in a variety of centres including rural and tertiary hospitals and is currently part-time working as a Staff Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Caboolture Hospital. Dr Tanda joined the team at Northside Gynaecology in November 2014 to extend her private practice work. She currently works at Northside Gynaecology consulting every Wednesday and operates at North West Private Hospital. Dr Tanda is committed to always providing the highest standard of care, combined with her warm and gentle manner. Dr Tal Jacobson is a gynaecologist who specialises in laparoscopic surgery with special interests in endometriosis, menstrual disorders, and fertility treatment. He trained at Guy’s Hospital, London with further specialist training in fertility treatment in Oxford and minimally invasive surgery in London. He is fully accredited in advanced laparoscopic surgery and C-QUIP accredited for the investigation and management of abnormal Pap smears. Dr Jacobson is a member of the Australian Gynaecological Endoscopy Society, Fertility Society of Australia, a Fellow of the Royal Australian and NZ College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in the UK. Dr Amy Mellor has worked in private practice in Brisbane since 2009, previously providing obstetric care at Arrivals Obstetric Centre and gynaecological services through Eve Health. In 2017, Amy co-founded ‘Castner Mellor Obstetrics & Gynaecology’ with Dr Megan Castner, located in the Salmon Building within the Mater Hospital complex. Amy also runs a public Adolescent Gynaecology service through the Mater Young Adult Health Centre. Amy obtained her medical degree at the University of Queensland in 1998.
