How To Make Bagels in Toaster
If you’re in a hurry and need breakfast, make a bagel oven toaster recipe that takes only 15 minutes total. There is something about toasted bagels that takes them from just a breakfast food to one of the most comforting and satisfying dishes you can have. Looking for a light snack or an afternoon pick me up? There’s nothing like biting into a crispy yet chewy bagel with some cream cheese on it. The best part about eating these delicious treats is that they are so easy to make! All you need is your favorite bagel flavor (we recommend sesame), butter, and cream cheese. If you want to get creative, feel free to add in any type of toppings such as honey mustard, dill weed, bacon bits or anything else that sounds good! So, when you have a craving to eat something savory, and all you have are the basics in your kitchen to make toast, don’t despair. Bagels can be toasted using various methods such as grilling, frying on a pan with butter or oil, placing it under the broiler (a little more work but worth it), or even baking in an oven.
Preparation time: 5 Minutes
Cooking Time: 10 Minutes
What You’ll need while making the bagels:
-
Poppy Seed bagels
-
Slices of ham
-
Slices of Swiss cheese
-
Slices of yellow or Visalia onion
-
Spicy yellow deli mustard
-
Mayonnaise or butter
Place two cut bagels on the toaster oven tray. Pop it into the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes. After the bagels brown on top, place them in a towel and leave to cool. Spread butter or mayonnaise on the cut side of half of the toasted bagels. Set aside the other half. The final step is to arrange the bagels on a preheated baking tray for 10 minutes. To make this easier, cut off the crusts and place them in layers: cheese, onions, and then prosciutto. Slide the tray inside the toaster oven and set a timer. Cook until the top of the bagel becomes brown or until cheese melts. Remove the bagels from the oven. Top each half with deli mustard and then serve them.

How to Store and Reheat
Reheating a bagel is simple, but there are a few things you need to know. First, make sure the bagel has been stored correctly. If it’s from the grocery store and was sitting out on the shelf for an extended period, keep it in your refrigerator until you’re ready to reheat it. If you have one that was baked fresh at home or picked up off the bakery rack, just put it in a paper towel-lined microwave-safe container and zap it for 15 seconds (or less).

Note:
When using this bagel oven toaster recipe, the preferred bread is a bagel. Other types of bread with denser qualities like French or white will work as well. For this toaster oven recipe with bagels and prosciutto, regular ham, bologna, or other types of meat can also be used. This toaster oven bagel recipe similarly allows cheddar cheese to replace Swiss cheese if it is unavailable. If you are worried about browning the bagels, step one can be skipped.
